Joanna Czaplewska (born in 1993 in Gdynia): graphic designer and children’s books illustrator cooperating with many cultural institutions (for example Goyki 3 Art Inkubator, Muzeum Gdańska, Muzeum Miasta Gdyni) and publishing houses (such as Muchomor, Nasza Księgarnia, Adamada). Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, now works there as a teacher’s assistant in the Graphic Design Department. Lives in Gdynia and loves the sea and collecting beautifully illustrated books.

Tears
The dove — generally considered a symbol of peace — is depicted against a black background symbolising the darkness of war and the forces of evil. The rain of blue and yellow drops is an allegory of the tears and suffering of the Ukrainian people.
