Ukrainian Girl
In this delicate portrait of a young Ukrainian woman, I intended to capture the sadness in the face of the cruelty of war. The girl is wearing a garland on her head, which once was a symbol of protection from evil. The Ukrainian folk costume is to emphasise the national identity of Ukraine and show how much we have in common as neighbours.
