Daryna Lutsenko is an artist from Kyiv, born in 1997. She started drawing when she was 5. She took drawing classes in school and participated in regional art competitions. She graduated from Taras Shevchenko State High School of Art and got her first experience in oil painting there. In 2018, she received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Kyiv National University of Technology and Design. She has worked as a portrait artist, a fashion designer assistant, and a photographer. Nowadays, she draws to help Ukraine.

Stolen childhood
The work of art I created was an immediate response to the war crimes committed by Russians in Ukraine. It is my way to experience our new reality, a way to tell the world about the suffering and pain that Ukrainians are going through.
