Gosia Herba was born and raised in the small city of Oława in south-west Poland. She started drawing as a child and has never stopped. After graduating from the National School of Fine Arts in Wrocław and receiving her diploma in jewellery making, she pursued Art History studies at the University of Wrocław, focusing on the history of illustration. After her studies, she started gaining professional experience by working for various publishers, magazines, music labels, and ad agencies. She also creates children’s books and graphic novels. Her work can often be seen at various children’s illustration exhibitions worldwide, such as Golden Pinwheel Young Illustration Competition, Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava, Tallinn Illustrations Triennial, and IBBY Poland Showcase, Bologna Children’s Book Illustrator Fair Exhibition.

We stand with Ukraine
I drew the poster as soon as I woke up, just after I heard the news about the war. I wanted to let all my friends in Ukraine know that I was thinking of them. Not a particularly good drawing, but it’s something straight from the heart, and I can see it doing its job.
