Alina Tyshchuk is a Ukrainian artist. In illustration, she focuses on bold and colourful works with many different forms, lines, and textures. Most of her works highlight her love of nature, people, and food. Alina also creates linocut prints and mixed media prints, which are frequently inspired by Ukrainian ethnic elements like costumes, patterns, and customs. In this illustration, she visualizes the Independence Monument that rises over the Independence Square in Kyiv. The word “Volia” has two meanings in Ukrainian: freedom and will. There are no better words to describe the people of Ukraine.
