Jacek Staniszewski

Born in 1957 in Lębork; author of visual installations, sculptures, posters, and artwork for music releases. Graduate of the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts of the Gdańsk State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the Academy of Fine Arts). Academic teacher at the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts since 1992. He established and runs the Social Propaganda Studio at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. His language of expression is a kind of visual performance in which emotions — as the core, primary factor — create a strong relationship with the audience. He has exhibited his art at e.g. the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, the National Museum in Warsaw, and the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, and, most recently, at the Nakanojo Biennale of Contemporary Art 2015 (Japan). Founder of the bands Chlupot Mózgu and Maszyna do Mięsa.
