Lex Drewinski was born 1951 in Szczecin. In 1981 Drewinski graduated at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. 1983-85 he worked as a director at the Animated Film Studio in Poznań. In 1985 Drewinski left Poland for West Berlin. 1992-2017 professor of Graphic Design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. (Germany). Since 2010 professor of Graphic Design at Academy of Art in Szczecin. He has won more than 200 awards and honors. One-man shows in more than 60 exhibi- tions all over the world.
The poster, entitled “Peace Keepers”, was created earlier this year as a response to the entry of Russian ‘peacekeepers’ into Kazakhstan. It is quite obvious that this was a prelude to the attack on Ukraine planned for February 24. The poster is a sarcastic commentary on the so-called ‘Russkij mir’, the Russian world from which one should take cover in a shelter or basement.
