Sergiy Maidukov is a Ukrainian artist who was born and studied in Donetsk. Over the past seven years, he has worked for e.g. The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Economist and The Financial Times, among others. He’s a regular columnist writing for the German magazine DIE ZEIT. He is also into political illustration. In 2017, he authored a Google Doodle celebrating the anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. “Selected Illustrator” in the 2021 edition of the world’s major illustration competition — American Illustration 40. Since 2014, he has not worked with Russia and has not engaged in any projects related to this country in any way.
